Adult ADHD
Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders, with approximately 8 million adults diagnosed in the United States.
ADHD is often associated with children, but it is a lifelong condition that can persist into adulthood. Adult ADHD can manifest in ways that differ significantly from childhood ADHD. Adults with ADHD may struggle with organization, time management, maintaining attention in professional settings, or managing responsibilities at home.

How you’ll feel
psychological assessment is a key first step to understanding and managing your symptoms.
My evaluation service
Choosing the right provider for your ADHD assessment is an important decision that can significantly impact your mental health journey. Gold-standard psychological assessments involve collecting data from multiple informants and using multiple methods, and integrating these data to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. For this reason, the evaluation service I offer is in-depth and comprehensive.
Your assessment process will include: a review of relevant records (e.g., academic transcripts, prior evaluations, medical documentation), a clinical interview, when appropriate, input from significant others and those who knew you well in childhood, self-report questionnaires, and objective testing. A key part of the ADHD evaluation is a battery of standardized assessments that help pinpoint and explore individual differences in attention and other cognitive domains. Based on the results of testing, a diagnosis can be made and recommendations can determine an effective treatment plan.

This depends on the results of the evaluation. Your assessment will involve consideration of multiple types of evidence from multiple sources of information to form a plausible account of what is getting in the way of your success. Regardless of whether an evaluation reveals a particular diagnosis, your assessment will provide you with a detailed description of your strengths and weaknesses as well as concrete recommendations.

The feedback appointment to discuss evaluation findings and recommendations is usually held 2 weeks after testing is completed. I will provide you with a hard copy and electronic document (PDF) of your comprehensive report at your feedback meeting.
